You deserve a therapeutic space where your identity, experiences, and emotions are respected and understood.
At Counselling with Rachelle, I offer queer-affirming and neurodivergent-affirming counselling for individuals navigating trauma, identity exploration, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. Many of the people I work with are seeking a therapist who understands the intersections of their experiences, whether that includes queerness, neurodivergence, racial identity, or complex trauma.
Therapy can be a place to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and make space for emotions that may not have felt safe to explore before.
Together, we work at your pace to understand what you’re carrying and to create new possibilities for healing and self-trust.
If you’re looking for queer counselling in Vancouver or support from a neurodiverse-affirming counsellor, you’re in the right place.
A therapist who believes you are the expert in your own life
I approach therapy as a collaborative and relational process. Rather than positioning myself as the expert on your life, I believe each person already carries deep knowledge about their own experiences. My role is to create a space where that knowledge can be explored with safety, curiosity, and compassion.
Many clients tell me they appreciate my calm and grounding presence in sessions. I strive to create an environment where people feel comfortable sharing things they may not have felt safe saying elsewhere. I’m not easily shocked or rattled by difficult experiences, and I understand that trust in therapy is something that must be earned over time.
My work is guided by values of consent, safety, cultural humility, and anti-oppressive practice. I aim to create a therapeutic environment that honours people’s lived experiences without pathologizing them. Rather than focusing on diagnoses or labels, I focus on the whole person.
I also bring lived experience and many years of working in mental health, including supporting people navigating complex trauma, substance use, sex work, and systems of oppression. This background allows me to hold multiple truths at once and support clients in unpacking societal narratives that may no longer serve them.
Many people seek out queer counselling in Vancouver because they want to work with someone who understands their community. Others are looking for neurodiverse counselling that does not center masking or trying to “fit in.” My approach focuses on self-understanding, acceptance, and creating ways of living that align with your values and needs.

Services
People often come to therapy when something in their life no longer feels sustainable. You may feel overwhelmed, disconnected from your emotions, or unsure how to move forward. You might be navigating identity exploration, relationship challenges, or the long-term impacts of trauma.
I provide counselling for individuals in Vancouver and across BC who are seeking support with:

Finding the right therapist matters
Choosing a therapist is an important decision, and I believe you should have the opportunity to explore whether we’re the right fit without financial pressure.
That’s why I offer a free consultation.
During this conversation, we can:
-
Talk about what’s bringing you to therapy
-
Discuss what you’re hoping to work on
-
Review my therapeutic approach
-
Explore any previous experiences you’ve had with counselling
-
Answer any questions you may have about my practice, identity, or values
-
Go over practical details like booking, session fees, and insurance
My goal is for you to leave the consultation feeling more informed about how I work and whether my approach feels aligned with what you’re looking for.
There is no pressure to book a session after the consultation. You’re welcome to take time to reflect and decide what feels right for you.
If you’re looking for queer counselling in Vancouver or neurodiverse counselling that centres acceptance and authenticity, I invite you to book a consultation and see if working together feels like a good fit.
